As summer is sadly over, so are the yacht shows along the Cote d ’Azure. Last year, we had a quick glance over the program of the Cannes Yacht Show and its main piece, the newest at the time, SUNREEF. This season we moved and put it in the spotlight at the Monaco Yacht Show (from 28th September till 1st October), organized in one of the most exclusive ports of Europe, Port Hercules of Monaco.
As every year, the focus was not just on the one-of-a-kind superyachts, but also on every aspect that is heavily debated nowadays in the world of yachting. Every motorboat company came with its newest technologies in terms of power for their yachts, but surprisingly, many of them started considering or developing a sailing version of their yachts.
One particular company that has attracted our attention is SUNREEF, the brand that managed to incorporate both the desire for an engine-powered boat and a state-of-the-art sailing yacht. This year its 2 newest models, the SUNREEF 80 ECO and the 80 SUNREEF Power Kokomo, were the main attractions, as they were both presented by their global ambassadors, Nico Rosberg and Rafael Nadal. The designers of the SUNREEF 80 ECO presented an eco-responsible luxury craft that not only is powered by wind, but also uses solar power to operate all of its internal electrical components. As expected, besides a spotless impact on the environment, the yacht incorporates the vision of its prospective owner of what the interior space should look like.
This year, all of the yacht shows along the French and Italian rivieras took everyone by surprise, but the last and the most awaited one had always and will always be the Monaco Yacht Show.
